Why do photos record privacy information?

Phones and cameras automatically record information in photos, including your shooting location, time, and device model.

This is a design feature of cameras and phones. When you take photos, devices automatically record information, collectively called EXIF data.

Why record this information? Mainly to make it easier to manage photos. For example, you can sort by time, view by location, or know what device was used to take the photo.

The problem is that this information is saved with the photo. When you share photos with others, upload them to social networks, or post them online, this information is also shared.

Many people don't know this, thinking photos are just photos, nothing special. But in fact, a photo may contain a lot of information about you.

So, if you're concerned about privacy, it's best to clean this information before sharing photos.
